This week I wanted to share with you all an update on one of my first students.
Alia is a Bristol based baking enthusiast and she was one of my very first students back in 2011. When she arrived at the class she had no previous experience in decorating cupcakes, but showed a desire to start her own cupcake business. With a young family the idea of working for herself seemed perfect. During the class Alia showed great promise and took on board everything she was shown. just 4 hours after arriving she had 12 beautiful cupcakes to take home. They soon became her starter portfolio and the ball was rolling. We stayed in touch and i gave her lots of tips and insights into starting your own cupcake business. Never once did she worry about the hard work , each and every time we spoke she was full of determination and a need to succeed.
Starting a business isn't a speedy thing and Alia spent months researching her business name, where she would fit into the market and what style she wanted to work with. Just a few short months later she has a wonderful quirky fun style and a perfect name for her business. In late 2011 Hundreds and Thousands Cupcakes was formed. In no time Alia has been inundated with orders and has produced some wonderful designs. Just last week she featured on Cupcakes Take The Cake , It was a very proud moment for me, seeing one of my first students doing so well.
Alia if you are reading this I just want to take the chance to say well done on such a brilliant job in your first few months of business. I know with your drive and determination you will go far. I hope 2012 brings you many orders and you really flourish in your new passion. It was such a pleasure to teach you and to have been part of your first few steps into business.
