easter bunny cupcake by mrs bakers cakes

There's a new bunny in town. Baker bunny , will be joining us in all our Easter classes. He's just part of the new Easter range I have designed to give a full range of skills during our Easter class. He's not limited to one occasion either, he would make a great addition to new baby cupcakes and all children love a little bunny on their birthdays.

  2. We all love our Mum's, mine was my reason for starting in cake decorating in the first place. She would make the best birthday cakes for us every year. She would spend weeks looking for idea's and when she finally had the perfect one she would spend a whole day and night baking and decorating the cake ready to surprise us on our special day.

I will never forget her asking once what I'd like as my cake that year. I'd said a Button Moon cake of course, I was an 80's child after all. I don't think any child from the 80's went without a washing up liquid and wooden spoon person at some point.

So Mum set about working out how to make the cake and characters. The cake was simple just a button shaped moon, but the characters were a little harder so she spent almost the whole night up trying to recreate my favourite kids TV programme. I promise I was under 5 when I asked for this cake by the way. I doubt even my love of retro could let me get away with a Button Moon cake in my 30's.

That year I knew how much my Mum really loved me, I had the coolest cake all made by her own fair hands. I felt like the luckiest girl alive when i burst into the kitchen that morning, my face beaming for the whole day. The anticipation of all my friends arriving for the party was unbearable. I was like a cat on hot coals, forever asking if it was time for the party yet. Finally they were there and for that moment I was a legend among my friends.

Sadly my Mum never got to see me passing on her skills to my children, I hope that wherever she is she's looking down and smiling. Especially since it's now me who has to spend all night up making fabulous cakes to rival the years before. Oh how I wish the TV programmes were as simple as they were in the 80's. I wonder how my mum would have got on with a Bakugan!

My love of cake started young and I believe baking and decorating cakes is a great way to interact with your children. Quality time is something we all struggle to give in this busy world. those moments sitting with your mum making cute cakes to sit in front of the TV with later in the day are some of the most treasured memories.

This year I have decided to encourage lots more of you to come and start a great tradition of making cakes with your little ones. We have a wonderful spring themed class which is specifically run for both mum's and the little ones. We will have great fun making little chicks bouncing round the field, bunnies hopping about and butterflies enjoying the springtime sun. Not forgetting Mum we will also learn how to make some pretty flowers too.

For more details check out our class timetable.

Whatever you do this mother's day make some memories that will last a lifetime.

  3. Well here it is! Finally I found the perfect designer to turn the ideas in my head into a reality and bring the new logo to life. I really hope you like our new look, I have always been a huge fan of Cath Kidston, Greengate and Pip Studio. The eclectic mix of colours and patterns are just my style. So I thought, why not bring this style to the business too.

I hope with our recent changes in the business this new look really will fit us better. What do you think?
